Capsule review : Canonet QL17 GIII
One risks being too precious about film photography, romanticizing its limitations and fetishizing cameras as physical objects. Using an adequate, unexceptional device like the Canonet QL17 GIII can serve as an antidote. The QL17 GIII occupies a middle ground between an ultra-compact like the Minox GTE and a full-sized rangefinder or SLR. It can produce beautiful images (though it helps to use a smaller aperture) and using it feels good enough. Sometimes, good enough is good enough.
