creativity

As a mainly analytical person I often wish I were more creative. Hence the appeal of #photography: it allows me the illusion of creativity while allowing me to indulge in a mostly technical hobby. I often wonder if creative people wish they were more analytical. Aside from the main benefit of being more employable (exploitable), what benefits might an artist derive from analytical skills ? Would they delight in, say, manipulating tabular data, as much as I sometimes do, to my embarrassment ?
